WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR INITIAL PHONE CALL TO THE OFFICE :

When calling for your initial consultation we will ask you for basic information regarding the procedure that you wish to have with Dr.Gallerani. Whether it is a BOTCHED surgery correction or Removal of the Foreign Material from the Face or Gluteus(Buttocks). We will ask you about the surgical correction or where and when you were injected with Foreign Material. We will set your appointment according to our scheduled openings. You will be required to get an MRI If you have had any of the following:

1) Foreign Material injected extensively in the Face

2) Foreign Material injected in the Gluteus/Hips or Body(Breast)

3) Foreign Material injected in the Legs/Thighs or Calves

If you are calling for BOTCHED SURGERY CORRECTION you will be asked to bring your past surgical/operative procedure note from your prior surgery.

We do charge a Consultation fee which is Non-Refundable. Should you need to reschedule your appointment for another date or time we will be more then happy to do so but the fee is Non-Refundable.

When you come to your appointment please make sure to bring the Disc of your MRI film with you, or any information on your prior Botched Surgery. Your consultation will take approximately 1-2 hours.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO REMOVE SILICONE INJECTION WITH LIPOSUCTION

This patient is a 30 year old Hispanic woman from Texas. She flew to Miami to be injected with the Foreign Material/Silicone in the gluteus/buttocks at a hotel by the airport, under non sterile conditions. The patient only had 1 session of injections and paid $750.00 USD. Within the first 24 hours after the injections she started to feel Nausea, difficulty breathing, shooting nerve pain down her legs and up her back, numbness in her fingertips, headaches, and feverish chills. She waited several days and finally went to the Emergency Room where she was seen by an ER physician and given oral antibiotics. She was told to take Tylenol for pain and to return home. Because the Emergency Room Doctors and staff were not familiar with the liquid Foreign Material/Silicone/Biopolymer Injections, upon discharging the patient they referred her to go see a Cosmetic Surgeon. The Cosmetic Surgeon she went to see was also not familiar with the removal of the Foreign Material but said he could attempt to take it out with Liposuction. The patient went to his clinic and underwent the liposuction procedure, whereupon the Cosmetic Surgeon spread the Internal Infection that she had all over her body. The patient was discharged home immediately after the procedure and told to come back for a follow up in 2 weeks. Within 24 hours she was feeling worse. She began to have fever, shakes, vomiting. Her husband researched online and found Medici Institute/Dr.Gallerani in Miami. The EXPERT at removing the Foreign Material/Silicone Injections.

The patient came to our office and Dr.Gallerani recognized that she had an infection as you can see from the photograph above. The patient was admitted to the hospital by The Infectious Diseases Doctors due to septicemia. (Infection that has traveled through the whole body) Dr.Gallerani ordered an MRI which showed all the injected material still in her gluteus even after the attempted removal using liposuction. The patient spent the next 3 weeks at home on IV antibiotics. She returned to our office and after being cleared of Infection and Dr.Gallerani was then able to take her to the Operating room and remove the Foreign Material/Silicone from her Gluteus that was never removed from the Liposuction/Laser/Cold Laser/ Vaser that the cosmetic surgeon had done.

It has been several weeks since her surgery and she has recovered very nicely. She has been able to once again travel for work and is enjoying her young children and activities again. She will wait several more months and come back to us for Reconstruction.
